法律概况
作为英美法系的起源，英国法律不仅构成了许多其他国家法律制度的基础，而且英国高校的法律专业在全球也有较高的知名度，教学实力堪称一流。
英国法律构成了许多国家法律制度的基础，英国在世界政治和欧洲政治以及全球金融中所处的地位使得英国的法律职业在世界上占据突出位置。英国现行法律的基础是英格兰普通法。
由于历史原因，英格兰普通法也被用来构建世界各国法律制度的基础，包括亚洲、非洲大多数英联邦国家，以及美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰等国。

法律专业的优势与特点
说到英国法律专业，其特点和优势有很多，主要有以下几个方面。
首先是英国法律的起源早、比较完善，又是整个欧美法系的发源地，构成了许多国家法律制度的基础。其次是英国法律类高校在全球有非常高的知名度，另外学制短、学历国际认可度高，教学实力堪称一流;目前国际大部分法律专业比较好的学校都分布于英国，比如南安普顿大学的海商法，其中伦敦大学亚非学院提供的法律专业课程设置是全英最全面的;第三、与其他国家相比，英国的法律教学更倾向于质疑而不是给出唯一的答案，这样对于开发学生的发散性思维模式是比较有利;第四、英国的法律是以判例法为主，相对于国内一直强调的法律大于一切的制度而言，英国法官的职权要比大陆法的大。
一般来说英国法律专业的学生，都需要去著名法律机构实习，包括英国著名的律师事务所、法庭及其他重要机构，如英国国会、伦敦劳埃德船级社或伦敦证券交易所等。所以英国的法律从业者也被认为是世界上最优秀的，要知道英国工资最高且非常受人尊重的行业一个是医生，另外一个就是律师了。
法律专业分类与方向
英国的法律专业划分的比较的细化。有知识产权法、国际贸易法、金融经济法、海商法、国际法、国际商法、人权法、国际人道主义法等等。每个细分专业方向都有其相应的权威院校，下面就列举部分专业方向比较权威的学校名称。比如.

法律专业分类与方向
尽管中国和英国法律体系相差很大，但是还是有很多法律专业非常适合中国学生继续学习的。比如：International Business/commercial Law(国际商法), International Trade Law(国际贸易法)，International Law(国际法)，Commercial Law(商法)，Intellectual Property Law(知识产权法), International Cooperate Law(国际协作法),Maritime Law(海事法)等。
但具体还是要看学生在国内大学里学习的法律的方向，比如像大连海事大学的学生一般的法律学习方向是海洋法方向的，建议去选些像海商法，环境保护等之类的法律专业，这样的学校有布里斯托大学和南安普顿大学等;其他学校的法律有经济、金融、贸易方向的，建议学生去读杜伦、格拉斯哥、诺丁汉，国王等大学的国际商法、金融银行法。

剑桥大学(University of Cambridge) LLM (Master of Law)
剑桥大学（University of Cambridge）位于英格兰的剑桥镇，是英国也是全世界最顶尖的大学之一。英国许多著名的科学家、作家、政治家都来自于这所大学。剑桥大学也是诞生最多诺贝尔奖得主的高等学府，88名诺贝尔奖获得者曾经在此执教或学习，70多人是剑桥大学的学生。剑桥大学和牛津大学（University of Oxford）齐名为英国的两所最优秀的大学，被合称为“Oxbridge”。剑桥大学还是英国的名校联盟“罗素集团”（Russell Group of Universities）和欧洲的大学联盟科英布拉集团（Coimbra Group）的成员。剑桥大学法律专业排名TOP1，在英国的大学中，世界排名最高，同时专业度十分受业界认可。

课程结构：The Cambridge LLM (Master of Law) programme is a one-year taught course commencing at the beginning of October each year and ending in June of the following year. The LLM offers highly qualified and intellectually outstanding students the opportunity to pursue their legal studies at an advanced level in a challenging but supportive environment. The course, with its rich historical traditions attracts students of the highest calibre, drawn in roughly equal numbers from both the common law and civil law traditions.
The LLM, as a Masters degree, is intended for those who wish to pursue further legal studies after completing their first degree in law, including those who are considering an academic career or intend to practise law.
The advanced nature of the LLM is reflected in the fact that the course is organised and taught separately from the undergraduate law course at Cambridge. All of the courses are specifically tailored for the LLM course.
LLM students take four papers, each of which is generally assessed by means of written examination. One of the four papers may instead be taken by thesis.
Cambridge offers excellent facilities to LLM students. All students will be a member of one of Cambridge's colleges while they are on the course.
MCL (Masters Degree in Corporate Law)
